Price Paid Data covers England and Wales. Sales in Scotland are registered by Registers of Scotland.

Price Paid Data covers England and Wales. Sales in Northern Ireland are recorded by Land & Property Services.

Open Index shows the figures as HM Land Registry publishes them, for the areas they were published for: map points.

Counts for larger areas are added up from map points.

Each point is a postcode, placed at its centre. Every sale at the postcode sits on the same point, so a point is never an address.
Points hold the standard sales of the last three full years and this year so far, with the latest three at each postcode. Repossessions, buy-to-let purchases with a mortgage, sales to companies and other property types are left out.
The median price at a postcode is shown only when it has 10 or more sales.
Street names come without house or flat numbers. A street whose name holds a number is left out.
When the map is zoomed out, nearby postcodes are grouped into one circle with the number of sales.
Sales take weeks or months to be registered, so the newest months are incomplete.
